Student travel grants

The Conference will offer travel support to a limited number of students working in magnetism and magnetic materials. The Conference support will be in the amount of $500. This support is intended to partially offset travel costs to attend the 55rd Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Conference. Support is for current graduate students only; postdoctoral fellows or non-students are not eligible. To be eligible for travel support, a student must be presenting a Conference paper and preference will be given to students who are nearing completion of their graduate studies. Due to the limited funding, only a small number of travel grants will be available. As such, grants to more than one student per research group will not be supported. All students who will be presenting a Conference paper are eligible for travel support and, subject to the conditions stated above, will be chosen at random from the applicant pool.

In addition to the above travel support for graduate students, there will be a small number of travel grants, in the amount of $500 each, offered to undergraduate students who will be presenting their work at the Conference.

The deadline for submitting applications and letters of endorsement is 5:00 PM eastern daylight time on September 3rd, 2010. Applications received after the deadline and applications for which the letter of endorsement is received after the deadline, will not be considered for funding. The deadline will be strictly enforced. The form is available, and MUST be submitted online, beginning August 18 at www.magnetism.org.

All requested information must be provided on the application and letter of endorsement forms. Applications, for which either of the forms is incomplete, will not be considered for funding.
